Landscape Art: Forest Paintings and British Woodlands By Peter J Gorman
I am interested in forests as the original primary native ecosystems of Northern Europe. I represent them with a mixture of accurate observation combined with a freer compositional licence. I try to create a sense of intimate space within an enclosed zone of nature. I also explore the concepts of forest and wilderness as a human refuge.


I Use a fast approach to Painting and try to get each painting or drawing finished as quickly as possible.
I work from real life, photographs anf imagination , usually a combination of the three.

One technique i use a lot is to  first  create base washes of acrylic paints. On top of this i then add drawing in Pencil, charcoal and pastels.
